STROKE AWARENESS EDUCATION OFFERED ON NOVEMBER 10th

The Beltrami-Bemidji TRIAD is excited to announce we will be hosting a Stroke Awareness Education Event on November 10th, 2016 at 12:30PM at the Bemidji Senior Activity Center at 216 3rd St NW in Bemidji. The presenter is Kirsten Reile BSN, RN a Stroke Nurse Educator from Essentia Health in Fargo. This event is free and open to the public. Participants will hear about recognizing the signs and symptoms of stroke, what to do if you see someone having a stroke, what risk factors you may have, and how to help prevent a stroke from happening.

TRIAD’s goal is to promote relationships with seniors as older Americans represent the most rapidly growing segment of the population; one in every eight Americans is age 65 or older. Seniors are less likely to be connected through social media and immediate electronic technologies, therefore decreasing their awareness of crime trends and personal safety. TRIAD also gives seniors an opportunity to interact with law enforcement and public safety to allow their concerns to be heard and addressed.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Beltrami-Bemidji TRIAD meeting. An optional lunch is available at the Bemidji Senior Center at 12:00PM, provided by Lutheran Social Services Senior Nutrition (LSS). A suggested donation of $4.00 for those 60 years and older and a charge of $7.25 for those under 60 years is requested for lunch. If you plan to join LSS for lunch, please call ahead at 218-444-3987, their office hours are 8:30AM-1:00PM.
