$224K life savings in gold, jewelry and cash stolen from St. Paul home

A St. Paul woman lost her life savings when someone broke into her home Saturday and stole 100 gold bars, a $36,000 diamond ring and $60,000 in cash.

Police spokesman Steve Linders said the woman had hidden the items in different areas of her bedroom because she doesn’t trust banks.

There have been no arrests in the case and there is no suspect information, he said. It’s unclear if the burglary was random or targeted.
