Red Lake Pharmacy to Participate in Pharmacy Week

Red Lake Hospital will observe Pharmacy Week October 24-28, 2016. This is done to better explain the role of pharmacy staff members and how they can assist you. The pharmacy employs twelve highly trained pharmacists and eight skilled pharmacy technicians. Each of them strive to provide you with safe and effective medications.

Many of our patients are not aware of what the pharmacy staff does. Our pharmacists have all completed a minimum of six years of college education, and work as part of your healthcare teams. Pharmacists teach you and your family about medications, and provide valuable drug information to your providers when needed. They also package and dispense medications for the Jourdain Perpich Extended Care Facility. The majority of our pharmacy technicians have completed training to understand medications and how they effect the body. They are experts in automated programs that assist with quick and safe service, prepare your medication order, answer phones, order inventory, and provide exceptional customer service.

To observe this week-the pharmacy staff has prepared materials and giveaway's to promote safe medication use. Pharmacists will be available to discuss your needs and provide services such as adult flu vaccine administration, tobacco cessation counseling, blood sugar checks and meter downloads, naloxone education/dispensing, medication therapy management, and much more. The staff encourages patients to bring in all of their medications for pharmacist review. This will allow you to ask questions and talk about your health goals so we can help you reach them. Please stop by the pharmacy or call at 679-2825 to tell us how we can help. WALK-INS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.
