Reuben Wind, Jr., age 77, Minogiichigad which means Good Day, of Red Lake, Minnesota and the Marten Clan began his spiritual journey on September 7, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Reuben was born on August 4, 1939 in Red Lake, MN the son of Margaret White and Reuben Wind, Sr.

Reuben liked to travel to pow-wows, hunt, fish, watch westerns and go to the casino. He was a Red Lake Warrior basketball fan. Reuben worked many jobs during his life which included working for Indian Action, Redby Sawmill, the Red Lake Fire Department, Red Lake Fisheries and the Red Lake Elementary School where he worked as a custodian and retired after 31 years.

Reuben has been reunited with his parents, Margaret and Reuben Sr., sons; Harold and William Wind; twin daughters; Marianne and Margaret Wind, brothers; Charles "Chuck", Terrence, Harold and Gerald Wind, sister; Joyce Wind and granddaughter; Tahnee Grauman.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 56 wonderful years, Luanne Wind of Red Lake, son; Reuben Wind III of Red Lake, daughter; Ruby (Jon Anderson) Wind of Thief River Falls, sister; Cheryl Wind of Red Lake, grandchildren; Tobias, Burt, Frank, Arianna, Marita, Marcus, Travis, Marissa and Trev and 19 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A wake for Reuben will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 9th and continue until his traditional services at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 11th all being held at the Red Lake Community Center. Anna Gibbs will be his Spiritual Advisor. Helping to lay Reuben to rest are Tobias Wind, Gerald Wind, Ernie Cobeness, Marcus Grauman, Trevor Grauman and Jason Wind. Alternate pallbearers are Dennis Robinson and Ole Spears III. His honorary pallbearers are Ray Paddy, Don Cook, Hank Cook, Jack Desjarlait, Chunky Brun, Gus Spears, Jr. and Dan Hart. Interment will be in the Wind Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah following his Sunday services.
