Red Lake Police Department "Marijuana Drug Bust"

 

On August 31, 2016, the Red Lake Department of Public Safety conducted a drug enforcement investigation resulting in the confiscation of 29 packages of high grade marijuana and $800.00 in cash. The marijuana was discovered in a vehicle that was stopped at a local gas station and had an estimated street value between $24,000.00 and $25,000.00.

Officers located four occupants in the vehicle and identified one adult male age 47, two adult females, ages 60 and 50 and one juvenile female. The 60 year old adult female was charged in Beltrami County and faces 3rd degree possession charges and was released on bail and the 50 year female was charged in Tribal Court and faces drug related charges as well.

The incident remains under investigation in conjunction with the Paul Bunyan Task Force and the identities of those arrested will be released at a later date pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Red Lake Department of Public Safety will continue increased narcotics and illegal drugs enforcment regardless of the type of drugs, narcotics or prescription pills to improve community health and public safety. Members of the Drug Task Force are seeking the public's help in identifiying person(s) suspected of selling or trafficking drugs. Community members who do wish to share information can always remain anonoymous.
