Two-sport star is making his mark in Puyallup

Times have certainly changed when it comes to high school athletics. If you look at photos from 50 or 60 years ago, it was obvious that Friday night meant everyone was going to be down at the stadium for the big football game. Of course, today’s average consumer has so many entertainment options at their fingertips that the days of packed stadiums almost seem like something out of myth and legend. This especially holds true when it comes to games in the city.

Another big change that has occurred over the years is the disappearance of the multi-sport star.

Okay, they haven’t disappeared entirely, but it is becoming harder and harder to find high school athletes who are willing to risk their future in one sport by suiting up for another that they also excel at. Frankly, between the possibility of injury, coupled with the huge sums of money that families invest into their children’s sport of choice, it just doesn’t make sense to risk it for many folks these days.
