William "Billy" Simon Hill, age 77 of the Kingfisher Clan, of Red Lake, began his spiritual journey on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji. William was born on July 14, 1939 in Red Lake, the son of Rose (Johns) and John Hill.

William joined the United States Air Force and served from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958. He was educated at welding which he learned in Chicago. He came back home to work for the Red Lake Transfer Station as a heavy equipment operator. William liked to hunt, fish, watch the Vikings and go casino hopping.

The family that William joins again are his parents; Rose and John Hill, brothers; Frank Hill and George "Bunker" Hill, sisters; Frances "Banjo" Hill, Mabel and a his special companion Isabella "City Girl" Arnevick.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his daughters; Patrice, Marianne and Laurene, sisters; Gladys Saragosa, Rosalie Hill, Delores Hill and a special cousin who he considered a sister, Gloria Neadeau, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A wake for William will begin at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2016 and will continue until the 10:00 traditional service on Tuesday, September 6, all held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake. Pallbearers for William will be Mike Sumner, Jeremy Hill, Mike Hill, Sheldon Hill, Merwin Hill, and Paul Hill. Alternate pallbearer will be Charles May. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim King, Dale Johns, Lavern Omen, George King, Lawrance Lajeunesse, Virgil Lussier, Danny Hart, and Rueben Wind. Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake following the service.
