Minnesota tribes stand behind North Dakota protesters with donations

Hundreds of Native Americans from tribes across the United States have banded together to protest a North Dakota pipeline.

The $3.8 million dollar oil pipeline is expected to run through North Dakota and, by some accounts, could disturb sacred sites and impact drinking water for 8,000 tribal members on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is gathering donations to help support protesters.
