Student dies in car crash on Cheyenne River Reservation
An Eagle Butte student died in a one-car crash on the Cheyenne River Reservation Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Five students were traveling to a Cheyenne-Eagle Butte volleyball match in Timber Lake when the crash happened along S.D. Highway 63, said Eagle Butte School Superintendent Carol Veit. The other students are being treated for injuries and are expected to make a full recovery, Veit said.
Grief counselors will be available to Eagle Butte students in the wake of the accident, she said.
