Partnership between NTC's LPN program and Sanford Health offers part-time employment to students while in school
BEMIDJI -- There will be a lot of opportunity for growth, development and specialized nursing thanks to the new partnership between Northwest Technical College's licensed practical nursing program and Sanford Health, according to Michelle Lindom, a clinical nurse educator with Sanford Health.
The two-semester program is in its second year.
“We have experienced some difficulty in enrolling and in the volume that we’d like to have in the program,” said Barb Forrest, a practical nursing lead faculty member. “We’ve been talking to Sanford for a couple of years now, since we started discussions, and the need from Sanford about the number of LPNs, the volume they need for the community needs and, just kept talking about ways we could entice people into the nursing program. It’s a very valued level of nursing.
