Football player says he was bullied over Native American heritage

SANFORD, Maine —The Sanford School District is investigating a case of taunting and bullying involving a Native American student.

Andy Packard, a junior, said several teammates made bigoted comments and harassed him because of his Native American heritage.

"I wanted to cry, but I didn't want to cry in front of them," Packard said.
