Laura "Lottie B" Amelia Brown, "Waabigwan Ikwe" which means "Flower Woman", 68 years old, of Bemidji and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Reservation began her spiritual journey on Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 in Saint Paul with her family by her side. "Lopy" was born in Bena, Minnesota on February 14, 1948, she was one of 13 children born to Vera Emma (Chase) and Raymond (Wilson) Brown, Sr.

Laura liked to sew, knit, crochet, draw pictures, beading jewelry, baking, cooking (she used celery in all her favorite dishes), gardening, fishing, camping (especially at powwows), going to thrift stores, free church, dollar tree, rummage saling, she liked gambling at the casino, listening to music (oldies but goodies), watching TV, decorating for the kid's holidays and birthdays, jig saw and cross word puzzles, studying the Bible and visiting with her family and friends. She enjoyed humor and was always helping others and loved to learn new things.

Laura has been reunited with her mom; Vera Emma (Chase), dad; Raymond (Wilson) Brown, Sr., brother; Ronnie Brown, sisters; Bobbie Ann and Marcelia Kay Brown and niece; Mary Brown.

She leaves behind her life partner and father of her children; Elijio Saldana Flores, her children; Sue Boss, Gerald (April), Brandon, Johnny (Maureen), Darla (Mike) Brown and Enriqueta Flores, her brothers; Raymond "Chez" (Corie) Jr., Kenny (Debbie), Jerry (Kim) and Walter Brown and Leroy Bellanger, sisters; Daisy, Darla (Dick), Roxanne, Cheryl (Bird) and Teri Lynn, grandchildren; Matthew, Lauren, Carly, Baby Dolly, Darlene and Sabrina, four great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A wake for Laura will begin at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21st and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Tuesday, August 23rd all being held at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake. Her spiritual advisor will be Steve Jackson. Pallbearers for Laura will be Johnny Brown, Tommy Brown, Ray Brown, Byron Brown, Daniel Brown and Harley Brown. Alternate pallbearers are Mishiikii Brown and Sonny Brown. Her honorary pallbearers are all her family and friends. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery at Bena, MN following her Tuesday service.
