Probation violation hearing for alleged kidnapper delayed

BEMIDJI—A probation violation hearing for a Bemidji man convicted in 2013 of possessing child pornography has been postponed until October due to an ongoing investigation.

Jacob William Kinn, 32, is accused of violating the conditions of his release by consuming alcohol and having unsupervised contact with a minor child. Kinn was arrested June 24 and charged with the kidnapping of a 5-year-old Bemidji girl who was found alive on property belonging to Kinn's brother.

Kinn appeared in court Friday, where Beltrami County Attorney Annie Claesson-Huseby asked the court to move the hearing to a later date. She said that after further investigation additional grades of probation violation could come to light.
