Motorcyclist killed in crash west of Bemidji

BEMIDJI -- A person was killed Friday night in a motorcycle-van crash by Wilton.

The incident was reported to the Minnesota State Patrol at 9:58 p.m. According to the patrol, a 2010 Honda motorcycle was eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 and a 1997 Dodge Caravan was westbound at milepost 107. The Caravan turned south to make a left at Third Street Northwest, crossing the eastbound lane of Highway 2 and the motorcycle struck the front passenger side of the van.

The driver of the Caravan, Charles Hagen, 66, of Bemidji was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. The driver of the motorcycle was listed as being from Winkler, Manitoba, on the Patrol's incident report, but no other information was to be released until family has been notified.
