Guilty plea in Tuscarora Reservation sex case

LOCKPORT – A resident of the Tuscarora Indian Reservation pleaded guilty Friday to having sex with a 16-year-old girl last fall.

Clint F. Farnham, 25, of Mount Hope Road, admitted to third-degree rape, also known as statutory rape, to settle an indictment that charged him three counts of that crime, occurring between Sept. 1 and Oct. 24. The age of sexual consent in New York State is 17.

Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III promised to give Farnham no more than a year in the County Jail when he returns to court Oct. 17.
