Elvira Rose “Tunia” Morgan, 66, of Red Lake, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in the Red Lake Hospital. She was born on April 13, 1950 in Red Lake to Lawrence Jefferson and Loretta Morgan.

Tunia was a lifelong Red Lake resident. She was a graduate of Red Lake High School and Northwest Technical College of Bemidji. She worked as a nursing assistant at the Red Lake Hospital for many years and also worked as a librarian at Red Lake High School. She was a former treasurer of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Tunia enjoyed her grandchildren, being with family and friends and going to casinos. In earlier years, she was a very good athlete, excelling at softball, basketball and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Patrick Jefferson; sister, Judy Jefferson; half-sister, Cheryl LaRose; granddaughter, Marlena Erickson and aunts and uncles.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her sons, A.J. (Dee) Jourdain, Jeffrey (Amanda) Jourdain and Gerald (Savannah) Jourdain, all of Red Lake; special son, Harvey Roy III of Bemidji; grandchildren, Robert, Keishaun, Geralynn, Jaden, Makye, Julianne, Harleigh, LeAsha and LeAira; and great-grandchildren, Raya and Robert Jr.

A wake for Tunia will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, and continue until her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, all at the Little Rock Community Center, Red Lake. Father George Ross will be the officiant. Those laying Tunia to rest are Robert Jourdain, Kerry Benton, Justin Neadeau, Mark Jourdain, Donald Brun Jr. and Lee Neadeau. Honorary pallbearers are Bev, Mike G., Mike D., Leslie, Tim, Sheldon, Vera, Rosie, Irma, Babe, Cheryl, Shanelle, Bonnie, Candy, Clyde, Bob, Terry, Elwyn, Merrill, Eva and Robin. Alternate pallbearers are Baby Jaden Jourdain and Kye Jourdain. Interment will be in the Morgan Family Cemetery, Red Lake.

Arrangements entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral.
