Minneapolis man is identified as victim in fatal stabbing near Mahnomen

MAHNOMEN, Minn. -- The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man that was killed early last Friday morning near Mahnomen.

Sheriff Doug Krier said foul play is suspected in the death of Jon Rock, 43, of Minneapolis who died from an apparent stab wound to his upper leg in a house south of Mahnomen..

Krier said Rock bled to death. Deputies were called to the scene about 5:25 am. Friday morning after receiving a 911 call. Rock was dead when the law officers arrived.
