MDA announces 2017 Minnesota Organic Conference dates

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) today announced that the 2017 Minnesota Organic Conference will take place Thursday, January 12 and Friday, January 13. The farmer-oriented educational event and trade show will be held in St. Cloud and is expected to attract 500-600 attendees.

The MDA is now accepting sponsorships and applications to exhibit at the Minnesota Organic Conference trade show.

“I encourage people to purchase their space early,” said Cassie Dahl, Sponsorship and Trade Show Coordinator. “We can fit about 80 booths into our trade show and have sold out the past few years because the event is so popular.”

Suppliers of inputs like seed and fertilizer, brokers, buyers, consultants, organic certification agencies, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations who have products or services of interest to organic farmers are encouraged to attend.

As domestic and international consumer interest in organic agriculture continues to grow, MDA staff anticipate another well-attended show. Additionally, Minnesota is home to over 800 organic farms, suggesting the event will be popular among producers statewide.

The MDA has coordinated the Minnesota Organic Conference for nearly 15 years and anticipates a wide variety of attendees.

Other opportunities include underwriting the conference with financial sponsorship and advertising in the conference program.
