A Crookston woman has pleaded not guilty to a heroin charge after police said they found drugs in her bra.
Cynthia Esquivel, 44, waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday in Grand Forks District Court, where she appeared on a charge of possessing heroin with intent to deliver or manufacture, a Class A felony. Her next court appearance is Oct. 20.
The charge comes after the Grand Forks Narcotics and Pine-to-Prairie Drug task forces learned Esquivel was on probation out of Polk County and that she was in possession of "a large amount" of heroin, according to a criminal complaint. On July 7, investigators went to a Grand Forks Inn room at which Esquivel was staying. They were told multiple individuals were seen going in and out of the room.
