Three members will be elected in the November General Election and take office the first week in January 2017.

Also in the General Election will be a question for voters on whether or not to add a 7th board member to the Red Lake School Board, of which there are currently six members. If that vote passes, a 7th board member will be elected in the 2018 General Election, along with 3 others whose terms expire in 2019.

Those filing for this election were current School Board Chairman, Michael Barrett, Kathryn Beaulieu, a former Red Lake School Board member, Chris Jourdain, another former School Board appointed member, Williamette Morrison, Rhonda Lussier, Jean M. Donnell, Doug Desjarlait, John W. Dudley and Deanna Lasley.

Two current School Board Members, Robert McClain and Darwin Sumner, did not seek reelection and their terms will expire in January 2017.

With that, there will be at least two new members added to the Board in November.
