Yvonne was born July 8, 1936 in Onigum, MN. She was raised by her grandparents William and Josephine Budreau in Cass Lake. She was an adventurous young woman who worked in Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, Clarksville, TN. Her travels came full circle back to Cass Lake. She was married to Robert Holstein for 14 years and John Littlewolf Sr. for 20 years. She worked part-time at the Chippewa National Forest and Cass Lake Library where she made many life long friends. She loved to read and was a pillar of her family.

Yvonne's Anishinabe name was Giniw-giizhikwe, "Golden Eagle Woman". She was second-degree Mide'wiwin and a member of the White Earth Band. Her kind presence was a fixture on the pow-wow trail. It truly was a sight to see her dance, carrying her staff with a hundred jingle dress dancers following. The drum was in her spirit, in her very being.

Those who knew Yvonne knew humor. Her quick wit and laughter were priceless facets of her life that are dearly missed. She had a quiet strength and a humble, caring spirit. Yvonne made it a point to never say goodbye, rather she said, "I will see you again." It's in her words and memory those of us here take comfort, for her time with us truly was a gift.

She is survived by her daughters Kim "Meigs" Hurst; Crystal Desjarlait, Darla Holmgren, Cynthia White and son John "Dusty" Littlewolf; 2 sisters Marie Thunder and Donna Oachs and 9 grandchildren, and many great-grand children.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Robert and John, her brother William Budreau, and daughters Janice "Munchkin" Holstein and Donna Marie McDaniel.

Honorary Casketbearers will be her nieces Rose Lovelace, Sheryl Lovelace, Frances Butler, Anita Lovelace and all her friends and relatives.

Active Casketbearers will be Mike Robinson, Glen Wickner, Robert Lowry, Ben Lowry, Robert Jaspers, and David Villier.
