CROOKSTON — For the second time in less than a month, a Crookston man out on bail for manslaughter charges has been arrested, this time for driving under the influence.
Brock Dale Strommen, 29, was arrested Sunday in Crookston for second-degree drunken driving. Strommen will remain in jail unless he posts a $100,000 bond or $10,000 bail, which includes several conditions including no alcohol use and remaining a law-abiding citizen.
The 29-year-old pleaded not guilty in March to charges of first-degree manslaughter, fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct stemming from a Dec. 25 incident during which John Henry Torres, 36, was assaulted outside Captain Crooks Bar in Crookston, leaving Torres with a fractured skull and internal bleeding. Torres underwent surgery at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, where he died Jan. 1.
