Herman David English Jr, also known as Lude the Dude, was born October 1st, 1947, on Red Lake to Herman English Sr. and Barbara (Herb) Brown.

Ludi grew up mostly in Minneapolis with his mother. In his early life he married Constance Monroe of White Earth, he served as a Marine in the Vietnam War and was a proud veteran. He was a jack-of-all-trades throughout his life and worked many different jobs. Ludi spent the last years of his life living on Red Lake, he enjoyed going to casinos and visiting friends and family. Anyone who knew him knew he was always ready to have a good time.

He is survived by his mother Barbara of Minneapolis, his sister Sandra, daughters Shaun, Charice, Shelly and Yvette, brothers Lee and Doug, and sons Brian and Rexford and his special friend Susan Graves. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Ludi joins in the spirit world his Father Herman English Sr., paternal grandparents George and Elizabeth English, maternal grandparents Charles and Jane Lussier, brother Robert "Butch" Demarris, and sister Bonnie English.

Services for Ludi English will be held at the Little Rock Center on Red Lake. The wake will be Saturday through Sunday with the funeral on Monday at 1 pm.

Pall Bearers will be Delwin English Sr., Little Lee English, Nick English, Alec Dickenson, Luis English and Joshua Jones. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Doug English, Doug English Jr., Rexford Strong, Jason Head and Lee English Sr.

To know Lude the Dude was to love him. Our dad was a happy go lucky free spirit, we never knew when he might show up or leave with the wind. But he always had a smile on his face. We will always cherish the time we got to spend with him.
