BEMIDJI — The last time Emily Israelson played in a Birchmont Women’s Championship final, she came about as close to a title without winning as possible. Israelson, from Staples, lost to Katie Sheetz in 21 holes during the 2014 edition of the Birchmont.
This time around, Israelson left little to doubt.
On Saturday, Israelson took the lead over Morgan Williams of Bemidji in the first hole and didn’t look back, winning the final 6-and-4.
