Red Lake Nation 2016 Run Off Tribal Election

Members of the Red Lake Nation went to the polls on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, for the purpose of electing four District Representatives for a four year term, one each from the Ponemah, Redby, Red Lake and Little Rock Districts.

The candidates in the Run Off Tribal Election are as follows: Ponemah District: Daniel C. Johnson and Glenda J. Martin; Redby District: Allen D. Pemberton (Incumbent) and Darrell "Ragg" Johnson; Red Lake District: Robert "Bob" Smith (Incumbent) and Donald L. Good, Sr.; Little Rock District: Richard W. Barrett, Sr. (Incumbent) and William F. "Billy" Greene.

The General Election Board shall meet at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016, to review the election and then certify it.

Pursuant to Chapter 1807.06 of the Election Code, only a candidate, and no other person, may challenge the correctness of the certified results of an election in which that candidate ran for elected office and then only for the office that he or she sought. Challenges must be filed in writing under oath with the General Election Board within five calendar days following the certification of the election. The challenge must provide the necessary information required by the Election Code and be accompanied by a cash bond of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
