Open house on July 27 for future Highway 2 project in Deer River

Reconstruction project set for next summer

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend an open house on Wednesday, July 27 to learn more about the 2017 urban reconstruction project on Highway 2 through Deer River.

The open house is being held this summer in order to make it more available to summer residents in the area. It will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Common’s area of Deer River High School, 101 First Avenue NE, Deer River.

The meeting will be held as an open house with no formal presentation and everyone is welcome to come when it’s convenient. MnDOT staff will be on hand to answer questions about the handling of traffic during construction and to present information on the project and detour.

The project includes grading, resurfacing, curb/gutter, storm sewer, pedestrian ramps and traffic signal revisions.
