Judge denies furlough request for Bemidji man charged with kidnapping

BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man charged with kidnapping a 5-year-old girl will not be granted furlough, a Ninth Judicial District judge decided Thursday.

Jacob William Kinn, 32, requested last week to be released from the Beltrami County Jail for six hours in order to visit his sick mother. In the request, Kinn writes that his mother was hospitalized the weekend of his arrest and had to have heart surgery, and that the weekend of June 16 she was hospitalized again with a “serious bacterial infection.”
