Jail recommends kidnap suspect be denied furlough

BEMIDJI -- Officials with the Beltrami County Jail recommended Tuesday that a Bemidji man charged with kidnapping a 5-year-old girl not be granted furlough.

Jacob William Kinn, 32, requested Saturday to be released from the Beltrami County Jail for six hours in order to visit his sick mother. In the request, Kinn writes that his mother was hospitalized the weekend of his arrest and had to have heart surgery, and that the weekend of July 16 she was hospitalized again with a “serious bacterial infection.”
