BEMIDJI -- Minnesota Speaker of the House Kurt Daudt visited Bemidji on Wednesday before returning to St. Paul to continue pushing for a special session.
"Talking with the governor, we're discussing the possibility of having a special session. I think we will and I think that's what's best for Minnesota," said Daudt, R-Crown. "The bonding and transportation bill that we had, that had more than $700 million in road and bridge money, which is a big deal."
The prospect of the Legislature reconvening for a special session has been the subject of conversation since the 2016 session ended with a bonding bill failing in the Senate. Gov. Mark Dayton has also since vetoed a tax bill that contained an error.
