MNGOP Calls On DFL To Renounce Its Domestic Abuser Legislative Candidate
(Minneapolis, Minn.) – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Keith Downey issued the following statement calling on the DFL to renounce their State Representative candidate, Jerald Loud.
“I call on Chairman Martin, House Minority Leader Thissen and the DFL Party to renounce Jerald Loud’s candidacy. Youthful indiscretions and past mistakes are one thing, but Mr. Loud’s history of domestic violence can’t be excused. Calling his abuse of his wife a “bad decision” shows that Mr. Loud still doesn’t accept that attempting to suffocate his wife and threatening to kill her were immoral and inexcusable. The DFL needs to take a stand against this abuse and officially withdraw all funding and campaign support for Mr. Loud to show solidarity with all of the victims of domestic violence in Mr. Loud’s district and across the state.”
