Woman accused of assault appears in court

BEMIDJI -- A woman who police say used a glass beer bottle to hit another woman in the face made her first appearance Tuesday in court.

Bail for Onawa Winona Dunn, 41, of Bemidji, was set at $25,000 with no conditions and $15,000 with conditions, including no contact with the alleged victim. Dunn has been charged with second-degree assault and has six prior assault charges, according to a criminal complaint.

Dunn was arrested Saturday after police received a report on an assault near the old Pamida building. Officers located a woman at a nearby Subway restaurant who had a swollen left cheek and lip and blood around her nose, according to the complaint.
