Two arrested after drugs, cash seized at rural Redby residence

BEMIDJI-Two people were arrested Friday after drugs and cash were confiscated from a rural Redby home.

According to a press release from the Red Lake Police Department, the Red Lake Department of Public Safety Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a rural residence in Redby on Friday and seized approximately 180 grams of heroin, 65 grams of marijuana and hundreds of prescription pills.

Also, more than $8,000 in cash was confiscated and the street value of the seized drugs and pills is estimated to be $25,000 to $30,000.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old male and 66-year-old female during the search warrant and both face charges of selling and possession of controlled substances, the release said. Both were detained at the Red Lake Detention Center. The Drug Task Force is operated by the Red Lake Department of Public Safety and consist of the Criminal Investigation, Patrol and Conservation Enforcement division, the release said.
