All Interstate 94 lanes St. Cloud to Collegeville open for Independence Day holiday travel

Single lane each direction resumes July 6

Motorists traveling Interstate 94 between St. Cloud and Collegeville will find free flowing traffic as all lanes of the interstate open Thursday, June 30 by noon, in time to accommodate Independence Day holiday travelers.

I-94 between St. Cloud and Collegeville has been reduced to single lane in each direction since late April while crews resurfaced the eastbound lanes and repaired the bridges at I-94 and Highway 15. The eastbound lanes are now complete, and will open to traffic June 29.

On Wednesday, July 6, I-94 between St. Cloud and Collegeville will again become a single lane in each direction as crews close the westbound lanes for resurfacing, and close three I-94 ramps. Motorists should plan for the following beginning July 6:

• I-94 between Highway 15 and County Road 159 will be reduced to a single lane with head-to-head traffic on the eastbound side of the road.

• The ramp from eastbound I-94 to County Road 75 will close; a signed detour will direct motorists to County Road 2.

• At the I-94/Highway 15 interchange, the ramp from northbound Highway 15 to westbound I-94 will close, and the ramp from westbound I-94 to southbound Highway 15 will close. A signed detour will direct motorists to the new 33rd Street interchange just south of I-94.
