Open house for Highway 46 project near the Popple River set for June 27

DETROIT LAKES, Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host an open house on June 27 for residents to learn more about this summer's Highway 46 box culvert project at the Popple River. The project will result in a 30 mile detour for motorists traveling each way between Alvwood and Deer River.

The public meeting will take place Monday, June 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Cut Foot Sioux Visitor Center, 44623 Minnesota Highway 46, Deer River Township.

Information on the project timeline, detour and anticipated traffic impacts will be available. There will not be a formal presentation, but representatives from MnDOT and the project contractor will be on hand to answer questions.

The Highway 46 project is tentatively set to begin July 11.
