Singer Loses Appeal for His Role in DWI Death

A Navajo man lost his appeal of a 75-month prison sentence for a drunken driving fatality.

Almundo Cruz Singer pled guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter in April, 2015, admitting he was driving under the influence when he struck and killed Marvin J. Ahasteen, a member of the Navajo Nation, near the tribe’s Fire Rock Casino.

Singer received a 75-month sentence followed by three years of supervised release. But that sentence struck a sour note.
