Two-Spirit Awareness Day is Friday in Cass Lake

BEMIDJI -- A celebration Friday in Cass Lake will bring together Anishinaabe community members who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer -- and anyone else who wants to come.

Two-Spirit Awareness Day seeks to support the LGBTQ community on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation, and to show people the significance those communities once had to native tribes. The second annual celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority.
