One Primary Season Ends … But Most Continue Until September

It’s tempting to write that the primary season is over. That’s what we want, right? But the process has along way to go. Between next week and September voters will continue to winnow down the number of candidates for the U.S. Senate, House as well as state and county offices. Even the presidential primary isn’t exactly over. D.C. votes next week (So I’d even like to call Tuesday’s election night the Penultimate Primary.)

That means a lot of the attention should shift from the top of the ticket to the candidates “down ballot.” (Data set: Native American congressional candidates.)
