Stella Mae Benjamin

Stella Mae Benjamin, 83, of Cass Lake, MN died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, June 13, 2016 at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Cass Lake, Minnesota with Rev. Mark Olson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Pine Grove cemetery under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born October 15, 1932 in Cloquet, MN the daughter of John and Caroline (LaPrairie) Kornezos. She spent most of her life in Cass Lake, MN. In her younger years she enjoyed camping, ricing and hunting. She also enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her sons Michael (Brenda) Kornezos of Cass Lake and Gerald Kornezos of Minneapolis; daughter Shirley Kornezos of Cass Lake; 6 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her both of her parents John Kornezos and Caroline Moose, step father John "Bubba" Moose, husband Harold Benjamin, grandson Todd Smith, great granddaughter Alyssa Stangel and her sister Rose Seelye.

Active Casketbearers will be Michael Kornezos, Jr., Joshua Kornezos, Larry Seelye, Tyler Kornezos, Ed St. John, Tony Tibbetts with alternate Gerald Kornezos.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Barb Johnson, Joni Hilton, Jackie Tibbetts, Gloria Mellado, Debbie White-Huesers and Mary Levi.
