Victoria Lee Brun, age 54, born August 2, 1961, fought a long battle with cancer and passed away on June 5, 2016.

Vicky was born and raised in Red Lake. She graduated from Red Lake High School in 1979 and attended nursing school and earned her LPN license. Vicky worked at the Red Lake Hospital and the Jourdain Perpich Nursing Home for a number of years. She then went on to work at the Red Lake Post Secondary Education Program as a Technical Tutor. Vicki also worked at the Red Lake Courts as a probation officer.

She loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews very much and would often babysit them.

Those she joins in the spirit world are her mother; Barbara Brun, her grandparents; Martha Brun, Joseph and Nancy Lussier, her brother; Derrick Brun, nieces; Courtney Brun, Emily and Elizabeth Johns, great nephew; Karson Brun, uncles; Donald "Bo" Brun, James Brun, Donald Lussier, Paul Lussier, Harlan Lussier, Kenneth Lawrence, Claude Beaulieu, Robert Barrett, Art Schoenborn, Edward Perkins and Edward Donnell.

She will be greatly missed by her sons; Travis Brun, Virgil Jr. and Vincent Skinaway all from Red Lake, her father; Francis "Chunky" Brun, Sr. of Red Lake, sister; Kathy (Bobby Whitefeather) Brun of Red Lake, brothers; Francis (Simone Johns) Brun and Jeffrey Brun both of Red Lake, aunts; Roberta Smith, Ramona Barrett, Joan Donnell, Anna Schoenborn and Virginia Perkins, nieces; Lindsay and Kali Johns, Erin and Mallori Brun, Amber (Jarrott Demarrias) Brun, nephews; Daniel Brun, Zachary Johns and Francis Brun III, great nieces and nephews; Derrick, Mason, Coby, Tia, Zane, Delaynie, Rylan, Charlize, Denali, Jarrott and Janiyah.

The wake for Vicky will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8th at the Red Lake Community Center and continue there until her 2:00 p.m. service on Friday, June 10th at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Pallbearers for Vicky will be Zachary Johns, Francis Brun III, Josh Stately, Donald "Donnie Bo" Brun, Joe Good and Michael Iceman. Alternate pallbearer is James King, Sr. Her honorary pallbearers are Colleen and Nicole Bettinger, Nancy Richards, Stacy Beaulieu, Janice Kelly, Lindsay and Kali Johns, Erin and Mallori Brun and Amber Brun. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake following her Friday service.
