Spirit Lake man pleads guilty to murder after killing friend with his car

FARGO—A Spirit Lake man who was supposed to go to trial Tuesday in federal court instead struck an agreement and pleaded guilty Monday to the murder of a Fort Totten, N.D., man last December.

Lance Alan Robertson, a 27-year-old member of the Spirit Lake Nation, pleaded not guilty in January to murder in the death of Larse Azure Jr., 18, in addition to two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon for allegedly hitting Azure and Tiana Walking Eagle with this car.
