Man charged with killing Joseph Broken Rope pleads guilty; state asks for 50-year sentence

The man charged with stabbing and killing Joseph Broken Rope, 40, in December pleaded guilty Monday to mitigated deliberate homicide.

Robert Lee Bauer, 56, pleaded guilty Monday before Yellowstone County District Judge Michael Moses. Bauer had pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide in January and was being held at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility in lieu of a $400,000 bond.
