Domestic violence: Nation gets $875k for advocacy programs

The Shu’-‘-aa-xuu-dvn (In A Good Way Place) Domestic Violence Program, part of Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation’s Community and Family Services Department, was awarded a significant boost in funding in May with a five-year grant totaling $875,000 from the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Underserved Victims Unit.

“It is going to sustain the services that we provide, and it adds another advocate, thank goodness,” said Jodi Hoone, Domestic Violence program manager of Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation’s Community and Family Services. “So we can actually serve more people potentially.”
