WINNIPEG – The National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations says police should brace themselves for some blame in the upcoming inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women.
Speaking to police chiefs from across the country meeting in Winnipeg, Perry Bellegarde said fingers will be pointed during the probe.
He said many will question how police handled cases and whether they do enough when an Indigenous woman is reported missing.
