RED LAKE – Nine candidates have filed for three Red Lake School Board Member Seats up for election this year.

Donnell, Doug Desjarlait, John W. Dudley and Deanna Lasley.

Two current School Board Members, Robert McClain and Darwin Sumner, did not seek reelection and their terms will expire in January 2017.

A Primary Election will be held on August 9, 2016, where the top six candidates will move on to the General Election on November 8, 2016.

Three members will be elected in the General Election and take office the first week in January 2017.

Also in the General Election will be a question for voters on whether or not to add a 7th board member to the Red Lake School Board, of which there are currently six members. If that vote passes, a 7th board member will be elected in the 2018 General Election, along with 3 others whose terms expire in 2019.
