Crookston Public Schools: Emanuel hired as new American Indian Education liaison

The Crookston School Board this week hired Dave Emanuel as the new American Indian Education home/school liaison. He replaces Jon Stronstad, who was terminated earlier in the spring after getting positive reviews from many of the parents and students he worked with, but also having a tumultuous tenure with some faculty and staff at Highland School.

Emanuel is a retired Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy who also works as a trainer at Anytime Fitness and has a photography business, Emanuel Photography. In the grant-funded liaison position, he’ll work 26 hours per week and be paid $18 an hour. Three applied for the position and two were interviewed.
