Judge dismisses Menominee tribe's lawsuit over hemp raid

A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Menominee tribe against the federal Drug Enforcement Administration over a raid and confiscation of the tribe's industrial hemp crop.

In the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Green Bay in November, the Menominee had argued that the tribe, in cooperation with the College of the Menominee Nation, should have the right under the Farm Bill to cultivate industrial hemp in the same manner as Kentucky, Colorado and other states.
