Powwow winner says organizer owes her $1400 in winnings

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — Native American dancers traveled from across the country this past weekend to perform at a Powwow on Credit Island. Now one winner of the competition has come forward saying the Powwow owes her the winnings.

The competition flier promised thousands in prize money over a dozen different categories. One drum contest promised ten thousand dollars in combined prizes. The organizer confirmed winners didn’t get paid, but wouldn’t say anything else. Performers headed back home empty-handed.
