Research and promotion councils elect new representatives

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Agriculture producers in Minnesota have elected new board members to serve on five commodity research and promotion councils. The councils play an important role in coordinating the ongoing development of farm products, such as grains and meats. Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) Commissioner Dave Frederickson expressed his appreciation of producers who participated in the elections.

“Through commodity council elections, producers have a say in how their check-off dollars are spent. It’s very important that they take advantage of this opportunity and I want to thank all the candidates and producers who took the time to participate in these elections.”

Board members will serve three-year terms.
