Could privatization solve IHS's chronic problems?

The federal agency tasked with fixing dangerous deficiencies at two tribal hospitals in South Dakota by the end of the month is asking for help from private health companies.

But the state's three largest health groups won't apparently be the ones to take over the emergency departments at the ailing Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities, according to spokespeople for Avera Health, Sanford Health and Rapid City Regional Hospital.
