MnDOT announces 2016 construction program in northwestern Minnesota

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced its 2016 transportation construction program, which includes a projected $30 million for highway improvements in northwestern Minnesota. To view statewide project information visit

Locally in District 2, which serves all or portions of 14 counties in northwestern Minnesota (Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard, Kittson, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, Roseau), the 2016 construction program includes a projected $7.5 million for the Highway 11 reconstruction project in Baudette.

The resurfacing project from Baudette to Pitt is only eight miles, but it's a complex project that includes in depth collaboration with the City of Baudette to accommodate sewer and utility upgrades. It is planned to begin on June 1 and you can find more details at
